Mmmm food… you love food! Not only does it taste amazing and brings people together, food is a routine favourite when it comes to soothing the pains and stresses of life. And when there’s an abundance of it, along with emotionally triggering conditions, you may find yourself indulging past the point of nourishment and using food to fill your emotional needs.

This is called Emotional Eating and it affects everyone. It can appear as:

• Binge-eating

• Frequent or mindless snacking

• Consuming large meals beyond the point of satiation• Excessive reliance on junk foods, sweet beverages and alcohol to ‘feel better’, ‘get through the day’ or ‘wind down’

• Hiding what you’ve consumed from those who might judge you

• Falling into a trap of nasty food habits that you wish you could stop… but can’t seem to!

What’s really going on?

Quite simply, you’re eating when you don’t need food - out of habit - to pacify and distract you from boredom, stress, overwhelm, sadness, dissatisfaction, resentment, anxiety, depression… any challenging emotion.

And you don’t need to ‘beat yourself’ up for doing this anymore. Because these behaviours are not really the issue, but the by-product of something else.

​

Unhealthy food habits are emotional… where food becomes a crutch to suppress emotions that you’re not quite ready to feel {or so you think!}.

The real issue runs much deeper than it’s given credit for, often all the way back to childhood and it’s still expressed in your life today. Mostly food fills the gap to something that’s missing or hides something you’d rather not see or feel.

Carly Bell is an avid food lover - she may have come to earth purely to eat croissants ;-) She’s real, honest and authentic about her food and emotional journey.

 

She knows emotional eating just like you and has spent over a decade working closely with people every day on their emotional behaviours too!

 

More importantly, she’s extremely qualified to work with you on all matters of the heart… including your suppressed emotions.
